New sign-up given price rise after 1st 60 days

      Hi folks,

I helped a friend sign up to Sky a couple of weeks ago. She signed up to the three packages and has now got the TV installed. The Telephone & Broadband are due to be connected up later this month. There was no earlier appointment available for her.

When she signed up I was careful to ensure that she made use of one of the Sky offers which meant that she would have free broadband for 6 months and the line rental would be 12.50 for the first year.

The problem now is that she has had an email/letter from Sky stating that the line rental will go up after 60 days.

Before we start harassing Sky over this, the offer clearly stated that the offer was for 6 months for a start, has anyone else had a similar letter/email from Sky?

If she is a returning customer whose been away for less than a year then she is subject to the price increase for the TV at least, regardless of when they signed up. The Phone and Broadband though I couldn't tell you.

She used to be with Sky at a different address more than a year ago.

This was a new customer signing, following the link for the deal from this forum, which was confirmed on Sky's website.

Having just clicked it again, the ad does now mention that the line rental is 14.50 per month. This was not the case a couple of weeks ago.
