      Caller ID not working since fibre upgrade

      We upgraded to fibre last Friday and the caller ID on phone has not worked right since the engineer left. When we get a call now, the caller ID flashes for a couple of seconds and the ringtone stops for a split second and then it displays "External Call" and carries on ringing. After the call is over it always shows a missed call even if I've answered it. Has this happened to anyone else?

      I don't think there is anything wrong with the phone as it was fine up to the engineer installing new socket.

      The phone is a BT Diverse 6350 if that's any help

      I have also rung *#234# and I got voice saying "caller identities will not be displayed, please hang up now"

      plug telephone direct into sock without any other equipment and try that aslo it could be possible caller id has not been placed on the line

      Thanks I'll try that. I checked on sky site and it says our caller ID is active, so think I'll give sky a call and see what they say

      Just a quick update, sky couldn't help as they said caller ID was active and suggested our phone may be faulty (It wasn't before the fibre upgrade). We ended up buying a new phone which resolved the problem

      Ouch!

      Have you tried the phone on someone else's line? That would certainly be the proof of the pudding.

      I've given the phone to a friend on BT and it works fine, so it had to be the upgrade that upset it somehow, but sky weren't interested. I'm not all that bothered because we were ready for a new phone as the old one took up too much room lol

      No problem. It is worth noting from this thread then that sadly not all phones may support Sky caller display for some daft reason.
