If your phone doesn't have this feature rather than buy a new phone there are products available such as this CPR Call Blocker that screen calls based on caller ID before allowing your phone to ring.

Mine is a Panasonic KX-TG8523E, answer phone and 3 handsets. You could also get them with 1.2 or 4 handsets. I got mine from Amazon Panasonic KX-TG8523EB DECT Trio Digital Cordless Phone: Amazon.co.uk: Electronics. The Call Blocker looks a good buy if you arlready have a good phone.

That does look as if it would be a good buy however as the screens on both my phones are not working properly any more I have been considering replacing the phones so would be interested in purchasing phones with this feature hence asking for makes and models that have this feature.

Tom, does your model block specific numbers or whole class of numbers. I get many 'International Unavailable' reported on my BT Answerphone which has Caller ID but it never show the incoming number. Would your Panasonic be able to stop this kind of call or does it have to be a unique number?

No, unfortunately it only blocks specific numbers which show on the Caller Display. I too get these international calls, which are a real nuisance, but there is not much you can do about them.

Thanks for the clarification. In that case the Call Blocker referred to above looks interesting as it will block a variety of 'generic' nuisance calls. Might buy one soon!

I have heard that the TrueCall nuisance call blocker is an effective and elegant (but perhaps expensive) solution:

      www.truecall.co.uk
++ speedyrite ... powered by NOW Broadband from June 2018 ++
(previously powered by Sky Broadband from July 2007)

      Re: Unwanted calls

I have the same Panasonic phone/answerphone too.

It's a great phone, long battery life, easy to set up ETC. ETC.

Was thinking of Truecall but the Panasonic's call barring feature has reduced nuisance calls to such a low level it is now not worth while.
