Starting from scratch, new line etc.

      Hi,

I've bought a house where the phone line is inactive (previously had a dial tone but now been completely cut off due to months of inactivity). I'm not going to be moving in for a month or two yet as I'm refurbishing/renovating but just want to get an idea of the process that I'll need to go through further down the line.

My exchange was recently upgrading for Sky LLU services so I'm probably going to be going down that route for my broadband and calls. Question is, when I come to sign up etc. how does that work if I don't have an active line, do Sky come out to install it or do I need to get BT/Openreach out to install it first then sign up to Sky?

Which ever provider you choose, they will arrange for someone to install the line and check everything over.

In the case of Sky, they will engage the services of BTO.

Virgin Media use their own people/contractors when using their own cable system.

      PlusNet Fibre since Jan 2021
Previously Sky Fibre & Sky BB since 2010.

Thanks assumed that was the case.
