      BT to Sky phone line

      Hi
I currently have TV and broadband with Sky, but the phone line with BT. I'm thinking of changing the phone line to Sky because they will give it to me free for a year, and also I will get the 5.00 discount if I go for Sky Talk. However, I am really put off by the problems users have highlighted on this forum. Has anyone had a good experience changing over? If not, I think I may move the broadband and phone to Plusnet. Any thoughts?

Re: BT to Sky phone line

I did exactly this just over 12 months now. I also had Sky broadband and BT line rental then I decided to move everything over to Sky.

The phone line change-over was painless and done in minutes first thing in the morning. Since then I've had zero issues with Sky line rental and Sky Talk (I initially started on Anytime but shortly after, upgraded to Talk Unlimited). Everything BT offered, I have on my Sky line (1471, 1571, caller ID etc).

I cannot fault Sky at all and have received fantastic service from them since.

I would never ever go back to BT for anything now. I used to be with Plus Net several years ago and they are no better than anyone else TBH.

It also makes life so much easier, having everything on 1 bill now as well.

Remember that most people who post forums tend to do so because of an issue. The majority of customers move across with very few problems.

Sky also brought in some small changes recently with regards to migrations. These make it a little smoother now for many people.

However, sometimes the brown stuff does hit the rotating device not matter what you do. That can be said for anything in life.

Re: BT to Sky phone line

I moved all over to Sky & it's far cheaper for me. I don't use my landline for many calls as I get all the minutes I need included in my mobile.

The only problems people seem to have is if they want to change their number or move to a different ISP in the future. I believe that's when issues can arise. Sky seems to be the cheapest ISP I can find with real unlimited broadband plans so those reasons are not an issue for me.

Thank you so much everyone. I think, in that case, I'll jump.
