      Cancelling Talk & BB

Can someone kindly tell me the process for switching from Sky talk & BB to Talktalk.

TT say I need a new line and cannot port my Sky number. Sky won't let me give 31 days notice to cancel as they say the new provider will sort it all out.

TT just checked my tel number and said it was not recognised and hence the new line and number. They have not asked for details of my current supplier so how will they 'liase' with TT to swap.

Sky also refused to give a MAC as they said I did not need one.

The only reason I want to switch is a first year saving of 116 which includes 40 Quidco cash back the 25 voucher and the 1/2 price essentials offer. (plus line rental 9.50 paid yearly). I may well switch back in a years time.

      Thanks.

      Welcome to TalkTalk.

      Everything is in their court.

If you wish to take the number with you, then it is down to them, but you can write to both Sky and TalkTalk to ensure that you can take the number with you.

Sorry, I should have also stated, if you are moving from an LLU product to another LLU product, or just from or to an LLU product, then MAC codes are not required.

MAC codes are used when moving from one BT Wholesale product to another.

      Re: Cancelling Talk & BB

      Thanks Scubbie.

I have had to cancel the TalkTalk for now as Sky say I will lose my line and no one else can set me up again if I cancel, I must switch providers and the new provider must contact Sky.

TalkTalk are not helping as they don't want to liase with Sky, they just want to install a new line. The best TalkTalk have offered is to switch back to BT and then to TalkTalk.

      It all seems silly.

Sorry, but TalkTalk Customer Services frequently come out worse than anyone else.

I'll not go into why you wish to move ISPs, but there are many other ISPs who can offer full LLU services in your local telephone exchange.

O2 & Be have their equipment in your exchange. There is a sister site to SkyUser: O2User

I am sure that you can find out more about their products there.
