Phone only works in test socket
Hi
Having a problem with my phone the last few days there is no line showing on the screen.
BB works fine (but this is an extension from the bt master
Checked BT master and the phone works in the test socket. But the socket does have burnt out connections so not sure if this is the reason.
Do i have to phone bt and get a call out charge or should they fix it free as its damaged.
Thanks

Re: Phone only works in test socket
If you screw the faceplate back on and connect just the handset without any other equipment on any of the sockets, do you get a dial tone?

Re: Phone only works in test socket
Ok, just to confirm that - with only the phone connected to the master socket (the faceplate screwed on), you can get a dial tone and make/receive calls fine?
If so, you're probably looking at some kind of set-up or equipment issue, such as a faulty filter somewhere. Can you explain your set-up fully:
- How many telephone sockets do you use?
- What exactly is connected into each socket?
- Sky tv connected to any telephone socket?

Re: Phone only works in test socket
Sorry misread the question.
No, there is no dial tone when the faceplate is screwed back on. Only via the test socket

Re: Phone only works in test socket
Ah, I see. I'll let someone else advise if there's anything that can be done on the wiring aspect.

Re: Phone only works in test socket
Could you do a pic showing the plate rotated more vertical to the camera?
Any dampness?

Re: Phone only works in test socket
Looks like you need a new faceplate, I would advise a filtered one and when you fit it, connect only the wires in the 2, 3 and 5 terminals.
