      Skytalk not working, not geting any help from customer services

      I changed to skytalk unlimited (line rental + calls) from my existing provider. Activation date was 12/04/2011. I don't have a working landline since !

      When I pick up my phone I get engaged tone and no dialtone. When someone tries to call me they can hear usual rings and then get transferred to answering machine, but phone at home never rings. I have disconnected all the euipment/phones from the line and have only one phone connected to main socket.

      I have contacted customer services on my mobile. Call lasted 40 minutes (costing almost 16 as it is 0844 number) and did not get much help. Tried live chat and was promised that technical services will call but no one has contacted. Sent several emails but no one has replied.

      Can anyone help. My job requires me to have a working landline so I am desperate. Any help will be appreciated.

      You'll need to be more specific - when you say you didn't get much help, how exactly did the call end?

      Call again, and have them call back your mobile number right off the bat. Unless you get someone who is completely incompetent, they should be testing the line first and foremost and then they'll take it from there, whatever the result may be.

      I got the answer that It should start working within few hours, but it didn't.
      Now I am affraid to call them because it takes upto 20 minutes before you can talk to any human voice. It costs a lot on mobile as it is 0844 number.

      Do you have broadband? If so, does it work?

      Try 08442410515. Hopefully you'll get through to someone a little quicker than that, in which case get them to call back on the mobile. It's one of the easiest calls you'll receive as an advisor, in my opinion, so hopefully you'll get someone with a brain who can sort it out.

      No, at present I don't have broadband as I am waiting to be connected with skybroadband. I transferred to both (phone and broadband) at the same time.
      BTW 08442410515 does not work.

      08442 410 515 is the main Sky helpline, try it again it may have been temporary ooo.
