Very true. It is also important to do it sooner, rather than later and talk to someone.

How many people out there would have reported this to the Police? The OP has.

Sky's credit control cannot be very good if they allow over 3000 of calls to be run up on a domestic account, even worse in the space of a few days.

I have always had a calling limit on accounts from any provider I have been with so assumed I have one with Sky. For example BT had a calling limit of 180 and Virgin 120.

I am going to call Sky to ensure I have a limit on my account if I don't already. The contract says they will use reasonable practices to set a spend limit which may vary from time to time and details of the limit is available on request, i'll certainly be requesting!

Further to my previous post I checked and I do indeed have a call spend limit of 100 which as a new customer sounds about right.

How on earth they have allowed the OP's situation to happen is ludicrous.

There are signs that it was done fraudulently.

If this is the case, then the Police will also be looking at who set up the premium rate numbers, not just who dialled them.

There are several instances I can think of where people set up a premium rate line and arranged for gangs to set up new phone lines. The gangs then dialled the numbers and didn't pay their bills.

However the telephone companies were obliged to pay the company who had the premium rate number at that time.

I think that things were changed after that.

Well I would have, for one.

I find it extraordinary that Sky failed to put a 'bar' on this line when the costs started sky rocketing (no pun intended). Serious negligence on Sky's part.
