      Charge for 0844 numbers?

      Good morning all

Can someone tell me or point me to a thread that will tell me the charges Sky make for 0844 numbers, doctors have changed there number to this dial code so I am guessing there will be a bigger charge to me.

      Regards

      LL

      Re: Charge for 0844 numbers?

It depends on the next 3 numbers, for instance a call to an 0844 200 number costs half a pence per minute plus 9p connection charge. A call to an 0844 921 number costs 4p per minute plus 9p connection. You can find the full details of call charges here - http://www.sky.com/shop/__PDF/SkyTal...oneNumbers.pdf and here http://www.sky.com/shop/__PDF/8622_S..._Time_24_7.pdf Find your number on the former and the charge band in the latter.

That is only for calls from a BT line to a Sky help number.

      Re: Charge for 0844 numbers?

Thank you both, found it now.

the number is 0844 387 placing it in a band g11, 9p connection and 4p per min and this is to a doctors practice - not a happy bunny as they always keep you waiting.

Thanks again, you have been very helpful.

      Re: Charge for 0844 numbers?

Put the number in the box here - SAYNOTO0870.COM - Non-Geographical Alternative Telephone Numbers

You may find a local number for it, which if your on Sky Talk would be free during your free time.

It is something that is being used more and more, just about every service now uses 0844, from hospitals to local councils. As you say it is very annoying.

agreed. i moved into a new build flat 6 months ago and every single company/service provider i phoned used the 0844 prefix

and was worse for me as i had no phone line!
