      Leaving Sky Talk Line Rental

      Hi,

Since we switched to Sky's unbundled service our phone line has been terrible, our fax machine cuts off, no dial tone is sometimes received, our phone will randomly ring and sometimes calls will connect but just make a horrible screeching sound. We asked Sky and the said it was "teething trouble and will be fixed in a FEW MONTHS"! Suffice to say we've had enough.

I'm thinking of going back to BT for line rental, it may be a little dearer but at least we'll have a working phone line!

My question is if I leave Sky Talk and go back to BT do I loose Sky Broadband as well? It's not a major issue as I am an O2 customer and could get a similar package on O2 for 10PPM.

      Thanks for your help.

No but you must have a Sky TV contract to keep Sky BB.

No problem about keeping the broadband, provided you stay with a BT compatible line. If you went to TalkTalk for instance, your broadband would be cut off as they use an LLU service, which is not compatible with Sky broadband.

The only downside is that your broadband will cost you another 5 a month as you will loose the discount for having Sky Talk.

Re: Leaving Sky Talk Line Rental

Is it not possible to retain 'Sky Talk' for calls and simply switch back to BT for line rental only? Then the 5 would be in your pocket and not someone else's.
