    This is a discussion on phone number within the Sky Talk forums, part of the Other Sky help and support category; i wonder if people are aware that once yousign up to sky talk line rental youare not free to leave ...

      i wonder if people are aware that once yousign up to sky talk line rental youare not free to leave to another supplier with your current phone number

      It's a well known thing that if you come off the BT network you will often be charged to go back on it again as they will have to press a couple more keys on their computer to sort it out....

      Odd - my parents moved over to sky talk for slightly cheaper line rental, didn't really save anything due to higher mobile call costs, and were able to move back BT and keep their number after the 12 month period contract had gone.

      However, they weren't moved over to the special SVBN or whatever it is network, so I wonder if it's something to do without being able to transfer a number OUT of that network...

      I think that once you transfer your line over to the SVBN network , you wont find it cheap to change.
