      Re: sky caller display

Originally, when I transferred to Sky Talk, it took them about 3 days to activate. When I was transferred onto Sky's unbundled network, this took about 3 days too. 8 weeks is way too long... it sounds like they haven't even requested this for you (I think they make a request to BT who they rent the line from to activate this for you). I'd give them another ring!

      Re: sky caller display

I assume you have this sorted by now. How long did it take in the end?
Some members may not know the following method of turning Caller Display on:

      Caller Display
To ensure that the Caller Display facility is switched on, dial the code *#234# (press the star button,

then the hash button, then two, then three, then four, then the hash button).
If the facility is active, the message 'Caller identity' will be displayed.
If the facility is not active, dial *234# (star button, two, three, four, hash button) to activate the service.

Taken from Page 3 of guide to getting the most out of Sky Talk

      Re: sky caller display

Just a little not that may be the problem, it might be activated, the dsl filters that sky send can be a bit rubbish, our caller display wasn't working until i changed the filter for an old one i had lying around, so if the method above reports its switched on already, then you could try that

      Re: sky caller display

I just tried dialling those codes - maybe my phone is too old, but I just get a voice saying 'sorry there is a fault, please try again' ...

      I think I'll give them a ring.

      Re: sky caller display

When I first got sky talk I tried to activate caller display using the codes but got the message 'your line does not support this service' or something similar. After calling sky they first said they could sort it from their side and I waited, rang back, same thing, waited, same thing.

The next time I rang back I explained again that they kept saying it would be done but wasnt and finally someone checked into it and said that when I first got sky talk and asked for the 1571 facility to be disabled, they didnt do this but put some sort of suspension on all call features instead which meant that they had to sort this out before they could activate the caller display.

From this phone call it took about three weeks to happen but in total it was about six months from first trying to activate it

Mine is taking the same for both caller display and voicemail too :-( I contacted Sky and they were unable to activate it due to a technical issue, so they have passed it to their IT Tech folk, but Im still awaiting their response.

      Re: sky caller display

I've also encountered this problem. I've had sky talk for about 12 months now and caller display was working fine. Then in november it stopped, no idea why and neither does sky. I'm fed up of ringing them as everytime it's i'll get the tech guy's to look into it and ring you back. needless to say i'm still waiting
