      BT Line Installation Refund?

      I've just moved to Sky Talk line rental after 12 months with BT. It appears that when i changed I incurred an 80 penaly for terminating my BT contract. However, before changing I checked with BT and have an email stating that I would not be charged for changing.

      However, it also appears that my BT installation of 125 (which I paid over 1 year ago) has been refunded. Therefore the 2 cancel each other out.

      What I'm not sure about is whether I should challenge the 80 penalty or whether the 125 is an error also - in which case I will keep my mouth shut!

      So I guess my question is whether the 125 refund was an error or not?

      Any help appreciated

      You need to check what the 80 is for.

      As an example, if you had free weekend and evening calls at no extra cost, then you would be charged a fee for each month the contract has to run.

      A while back BT changed one of their packages and sent out letters, if you agreed to the new package you were in fact taking a new contract period out. You may be paying to get out of that period early.
