      Re: Problems with Sky telephone

Just sent this to Sky via their email form

Since swapping to Sky's SVBN Network recently have I had repeated issues with my telephone (voice side) service.

Previous Fault (logged and all fixed I thought)
      1. Line stopped working (but still had dial tone)
      2. Calls going straight to voicemail
      3. Cycling notes when dialling a number.
      4. Engaged when dialling voicemail.
      5. Caller cannot hear me when I answer phone (intermittent).
      6. Caller ID intermittent.

Numbers 1-4 were fixed the same day, 5/6 I thought were fixed, but...

Current Fault (not logged until this email)
      1. Caller cannot hear me when I answer phone.
      2. Caller suddenly can't hear me during the call.
      3. Caller ID intermittent.

I have checked the Sky User forums and found FIVE threads with similar issues.

Can you please look into this...

I NEVER had this problem with BT's Network with the same telephone at this address.

      Re: Problems with Sky telephone

After a few phone calls with Sky, explaining the issue outlined in the first post, they have just phoned to confirm they have fixed the problem which was a transmission issue between Chelmsford and Milton Keynes this was fixed around 6pm today apparently. So far I haven't had the issue, but haven't had many phonecalls in an hour anyway

      Re: Problems with Sky telephone

Hi I have'nt looked at this threads for some days but I am still having my original problem. I phoned Sky yet again told them that a lot of people were having the same problem, they advised me to unplug my phone from the outside of my BT box (indoors) and plug it into the inside socket to see if it makes any difference. They were going on about if it is my problem they will make a charge of 94 to fix it!! But if it is there problem it will get fixed free!! They said that forums like this just scare monger. I am going to leave the socket plugged in for about a week and see if it makes a difference.

      Re: Problems with Sky telephone

they got you to plug it into the test socket. if it doesnt work in there it won't work. i've got a problem with my phone. no dial tone, can't receive or make calls. i've tried everything on the troubleshooting and no joy. i've spent about 20 quid on my mobile to try to speak to someone in technical and i haven't got through yet!!! i'm getting really narked with it all. i cant even get through to cancellations. what a joke this company is!!!! if i wanted to ring to upgrade and spend more money with them i bet i'd get straight through. sorry to jump into your post and whine like this but i am seriously annoyed about this. got no landline and can't speak to someone to sort it.

      Re: Problems with Sky telephone

Arghhhhhhh!!!!!! I Hate The New Sky Network!!!

Before The Switch Over my Phone & Broadband Was Flawless, Was getting a Steady 18mb download & 1mb upload, Then soon as i got switched over the phone lost its caller display & was not dailing out at random times ( just a dead tone ) and when some one tryed to ring the house it would go to voice mail & not ring at all. The Broadband was getting loads of errors & now the CST has dropped it to 16mb ( sync ) but only geting 9-10mb max.
Also before switch over my IP address was always local ( Newport ) but now getting IP's from Brigend, birmingham, stroke-on-trent, Stalybridge ect, ????? everywere but Newport like before the switch.

Been on phone to sky countless of times only thing that was sorted was caller ID
i'm thinking of moving provider but realy like sky BB ( did ) as you get a lot of bang for your buck so will be asking to switch me back to the old network i was on before the switch.

As they say... if it's not broke DONT fix it :P
