0870 calls on Skyfreetime now included

I see that 0870 calls are now included in the free call allowances from Sky (See Sky Talk)

It says that 0870 numbers are included if you look in the small print at the bottom, item 1.

I wonder why Sky haven't made a big announcement of this change? Also, why include 0870 if 0845 calls are not included?

      Anyway, it is good news.

This was reported previously in this thread -
      http://www.skyuser.co.uk/forum/sky-t...unlimited.html

The reason is probably due to this statement by Ofcom-
      Changes to 0870 | Ofcom

Free 0845 calls would be better as many Local Authorities and Medical services are now using these

and many places have moved to 0844 as a fee earning means of circumnavigating around these the 0845/0870 issue.

Only calls to Sky's 0844 numbers are free, it's not free to ALL 0844 numbers, if I recall correctly...

I agree including 0845 (as BT do) would have been better. There are more 0845 numbers than 0870s. Still I always use 'Say No to 0870' to get a geographical number.

Re: 0870 calls on Skyfreetime now included

There is a time to end these local and national rate ancient issues and just have phone numbers.

Someone should get rid of set up charges as well. When did they get introduced ? What a rip off !
