Need Sky line rental for cheaper broadband?

Do you need to take the Sky line rental if you want the 5 discount off broadband? I don't mind switching to Sky Freetime as long as I can keep my BT line rental. Is this possible? Also if I do this can I disable caller ID so BT do not charge me for it (since I wont be making any calls through BT)?

      Thanks

You don't need to take the Sky line rental to get the 5 discount off broadband, you just need to take either of the call packages (Freetime or Unlimited) - you will then continue to pay BT for your line rental.

BT would continue to provide your Caller ID service, so you would need to contact them to cancel it.

Great, thanks for that. Just got another quick question, if you have just got a new 12 month contract with BT (having just moved in), are you tied to a 12 month contract on the calls or just line rental, or both?

      Cheers.

I'm guessing that you would be liable for the cost of your line rental, plus any call package that you have subscribed to, for the remainder of your 12 month contract period.
