    bt owe us money after sky switch

      bt owe us money after sky switch

      i moved to sky line rental in jan this year.
      just as we moved over the 3 months line rental was paid to bt.
      so that meant we had paid for 3 months in advance even though we had switched to sky
      bt sent us a letter saying they were sorry to see us go and hoped we would come back to them.
      i didnt expect bt to refund the money till our next bill would have been due
      it came today and shows we are 25 in credit and that this will be put on to our next bill. why we are no longer with them. can they hold this money back
      ive just rung and i got through to the indian call centre . so i just hung up. i couldnt even understand the name he told me
      anyone had the same problem

      Call BT and ask for customer relations, also you could try the "live chat" system on the BT.com site on the contact us page. Should get you in contact with a UK based agent as the online side is dealt with by specialised agents in the UK centers mainly.

      I switch to Sky line rental and BT sent me a cheque within a few days for the balance of our rental with them. However we'd been with Sky Talk for 18 months and so they didn't have to worry about any outstanding call charges.

      i have only been with Sky Talk about 1 mth so yeah do some ringing about before you get ripped off.

      i tried the bt online chat. waste of space
      was told to contact my original service provider .ummmm thats you
      is there anyway of contacting bt without going through india

      write a letter of complaint?

      That worked for me last time I had to complain to BT.
      I'm a PC, and Windows 7 Backup saved my sanity when BitDefender imploded !!!

      When we changed from BT to Sky rental, BT continued to take the Direct Debit payments for the next two months. I probably spoke to about 10 different people - one of them even said I should claim the money back using the Direct Debit guarantee - before I eventually got a cheque for 80 quid about 4 months after the changeover.

      Switched to Sky talk in February and kept my line rental with BT. BT continued to charge me for a call package. I complained last month and they promised to refund the charges on my next bill, which they have done - and charged me another month in advance for the non existant call package

      Looks like Sky could be gaining another line rental customer.

      Looks like this problem has not been resolved.
      I have been with sky for my broadband for a couple of years but kept line rental and call package with BT.

      Finally decided to kick BT from providing me any services as my bank acount had been debited by double the value of my bills amounted too for the same period. (I was so far in credit at beginning of year they sent me a cheque for about 100 so I know I owed them nothing from previous) When calling BT to complain and enquire where this additional money was (as my account was only showing 2 in credit) I was informed, erm I see what you mean, but we dont know, we cant figure it out, 3 different people!!!!

      So my switch has passed and I am still only 2 in credit, no sign of the 150+ they owe me, plud the additional three months advance line rental they recently billed me for, which was for the three months proceeding my contact renawal date (which I cancelled well within the notification period).

      Making one more call to complain in morning, if not sorted, I'm firing a letter off advising I am taking them to small claims court. Cant be arsed with any more of their crap....
