Is this a sign that you have a voice message?

I have the same - it only started when I added the "caller redirect" feature which you pay extra for.

      Re: strange dial tone

Don't know about the 1571; I think it stays anyway. Been with SKY Talk for about 6 months and 1571 is still going for me.

Caller ID: I would call SKY and ask them to add it onto your phone. I think I was charged an extra 1 per month for this; but it helps me to avoid loads of sales calls.

On behalf of your friends and family, can I urge you please to find out how to dump 1571 - and then dump it!

      Re: strange dial tone

Caller ID is free with Sky rental, it just has to be activated. I have to agree with Heinz, 1571 is an imposition.

      Re: strange dial tone

      rang sky earlier
1571 can be turned off and yes caller id is free
however because i have only just gone on to sky rental, and because i got the first 6 months for 5. i was informed any changes on my account would cancel out my 1/2 price rental. oh well ive managed years never having caller id, im sure 6 more months wont be hard. and 5 a month for caller id does not appeal

Hmmmm. I've just started with this offer too

My line didn't have "Caller Display" and I asked for it to be added, which it has been. At no point in the proceedings did the three separate advisors I spoke to mention this. (I.e. Caller Display would constitute a change to my account and cancel out the offer).

When you think about it, it seems a strange thing to say. You have a line to which you cannot add/remove ("changes"), calling products, presumably paid or otherwise, without incurring a penalty!

I'd get a second opinion on this.
