Been signed up to SkyTalk without requesting it!!!

      Hi Guys
rang sky the other day to enquire about the HD package, really to find out what my monthly bill would be with it. The guy on the phone was an irsih guy and was really pushing for me to register for HD, I told Im wouldn't register as I would need to speak to the wife to dicuss costs. I also mentioned that we were 'thinking' of skytalk. I expressed that this was an enquiry about costs and nothing else.

so what did I get today, a letter from sky saying I'd switched to SkyTalk unlimited and an email thanking me for placing an order for HD!!!!!!

Had a letter from BT confirming the switchover.....grrrrrrrr

We use the phone very little and being the kind of person I am I will always research something before I commit to see if it will actually save me money, the skytalk I suspect will not,

So Im not sure who I should call to complain to but Im gonna cancel.

Never had trouble with sky and have always found them easy, this takes the biscuit, has it happened to anyone else?

If that had happened to me I would have taken them to court for theft. Perhaps anyone dealing with sky should record the conversations.

I think Sky record the conversation.

What theft??? they haven't done anything yet, a quick call to Sky should sort it out, mistakes do get made, at worst sales jumped the mark.

I would love to see the court case, erm your honour, Sky signed me up to a package I didn't want but only enquired about, then sent me a letter telling me that they had signed me up, how long do you think Mr Murdoch should serve???

You really cannot be that stupid can you, I don't even think the American courts would hear this one

Smithy99 is there anything that sky does that doesn't get up your nose. they dish out crap equipment, can't sort out broadband problems, and yes they record the conversations, If you bothered to read my post (if you can read that is) that people should record their conversations with sky. And if they took even a penny off me I would still take them to court as theft is theft, and as for being stupid I suggest you look in the mirror for a prime candidate for that position. Change your alias to sky crawler.

Lot's of things but I think you got the question turned around a bit

They supply a netgear or Sagem router which are bought by 1000's customer off the shelf, infact I had a Netgear router which I bought before I signed up to Sky so it's hardly crap. Their TV equipment is way ahead of most other suppliers expecially the HD receivers and they have one of the best research and development teams in that area.

They seem to sort out quite a few, infact on another thread a recent poll shows over two thirds have had theirs sorted.

It's obvious I can read as I responded to your post, also if you look I have responded to over 1000 other posts aswell, what's your count??

For the record I didn;t say you were stupid, I just questioned it but now I guess I know, As Forest Grump might say, "stupid is as stupid does", we all have our moments

Jeez, I didn't realise this board was so aggressive

Anyway rang earlier this evening, waited an age and got through, but after being put on hold for ages again had to cut the line as I had to go out.

Wife rang BT and they cancelled it and put a compliant forward.

Rang again tonight, straight through to the lovely girls north of the border and cancelled, no problems, Im miffed the sales guy obviously jumped the gun but it wasn't worth having a go at the girl on the phone.

Problem solved, cheers to you guys for just letting me vent.....I feel better now

Re: Been signed up to SkyTalk without requesting it!!!

Smithy99 the only thing you can come up with is had over 1000 posts, and that makes you an expert, say three million people took broadband with sky, according to that poll of yours one million of them would not be sorted. what about all the boxes that need resetting every two days, or the boxes that need new psu's. You've only got to read the posts on here to see the problems, please get an adult to check what you read, or get one to read it to you, I SAID IF, i repeat IF they took anything off me, it seems you rather missed quite a few years of education. Perhaps you need to get a job instead of trawling this site, as you have obviously too much time on your hands. Netboy: glad you got it sorted, it still cost you the price of the calls though.
