      sky line rental question

ive just opted for the 5 offer for line rental for the 1st 6 months
my sky account shows it will be live from the 22nd feb. but our bt bill came for the line rental a few days ago and as been paid.
as we pay 3 months in advance i guess we should get a refund off bt. will this be automatic or will we have to contact them
as anyone else had any dealings with this

Hi I did the same then received letter from Bt saying you changing your line provider then another letter from Bt with a check which is a rebate. Then a letter from Sky with all information about Sky Talk.
      Steve

If you already have a BT land line you can get Sky Talk with no extra installation or equipment required. Sign up today and enjoy lots of free calls within two weeks. We contact your current telephone provider and take care of the rest.

thanks, been told we will move over to line rental on the 22 nd feb, so will wait and see what happens after that date.
i ve had the phone calls for about 12 months so may as well take the line rental as well.
i take you had no regrets taking line rental.
do you get free caller id with the line rental?

      Hi Markyb,

I have just switched over to Sky line rental and can confirm that you do get free CLI. This was an option that i ticked when ordering though so if you didnt do this you may have to ring up and get it enabled. It definitely free though..

      Re: sky line rental question

the letter come today off sky and also from bt
one thing i was wondering about is my number
if i am canceling my contract with bt can they take my number off me
i noticed in the sky t&c that they can change your number if they want to.
this is my mums line and she is adamant that she does not want to change her number

      Re: sky line rental question

      Hi

Could any of you folks who've signed up to Sky Line Rental confirm something for me that I can't see on Sky's website? If I sign up through Sky's website do I need to contact BT myself to cancel my line rental with them, or does Sky take care of that? I notice above that someone has posted a quote showing that Sky take care of this for calls but I can find no confirmation anywhere about the case with the line.

      Thanks

P.S. I hope nobody minds me adding this query to this thread, but it seemed an appropriate place to ask rather starting a new thread.

      Re: sky line rental question

Hey Markyb, Just wondered what the outcome was with the refund from BT as I'm in the same situation. (BT line rental bill just been paid, Skytalk calls etc)

I rang Sky with my question (same as your original) & they had no idea at all & said perhaps it was best if I wait until the next quarter end with BT.. not the answer I was expecting or hoping for!

      Cheers.
