      Call Forward to Mobile?

Seeing as everyone at our house has their own mobile, the landline has become pretty redundant. What I want to do is to have all calls made to our landline number forwarded to a mobile number. Does anyone know how to accomplish this and what kind of fees/charges are involved (if any)?

Would I be able to just unplug my landline phone after this is all setup and running?

      Re: Call Forward to Mobile?

If anyone is interested, I gave Sky a call and they charge 1.75 per month to forward the calls from your landline to another number. It takes 72 hours for the service to activate, so i'll post a update later in the week.

I think that you will find that you still need to pay the telephone line rental and that you will pay the cost of the call from your phone to the mobile for each redirected call. Your caller pays the cost of a call to a landline.

      Regards,

      Felix

      Re: Call Forward to Mobile?

The service activated this morning and it works great. I've now disconnected the home phone, and all the calls to my landline number and forwarded to a mobile number. All I pay is line rental, the 1.75 per month for the call forwarding service and the cost of the call from the landline to the mobile.

I have a local voip geographical number, free number, free connection,no line rental, no call divert rental, and i point it straight at my mobile number and just pay cost of diverted call.

      Which could get very expensive!

I use a BT landline, BT's Call Diversion Calling Feature (currently 1.75/month but due to go up to 2.50) and Primus's Penny Mobile 2 CPS. As long as each diverted call doesn't exeed 20 minutes, I know the cost of the diverted part of the call will be 20p.
