      This may be a clever bit of marketing though, as it doesn't mention 0844 numbers which most now are. 0845 is helpful, and I wonder how long it will be until Sky follow suit?

      Are you sure? AIUI, those on the Unlimited Weekend Plan will get nothing extra.

      Re: BT Scraps Charges for 0870 Numbers

      BT's announcement is at http://www.btplc.com/news/articles/showarticle.cfm?articleid={e501c5ef-11a2-4779-a932-177450ecd870}

      An Anytime customer will now get their calls to these numbers for free as well as all their calls to UK landlines and great rates on mobile calls for just 4.85 a month, which works out at less than the cost of a second class stamp a day.

      A customer who is on the Evening and Weekend package will get their 0870 and 0845 calls for free, as well as their UK landline calls, after 6pm every day and all weekend.
      I thought that was everybody. If there's an even lower package, I apologise.

      Regards,

      Felix

      Yes come on Sky - time these were free as well for talk anytime customers or all?

      I use "say no" anyway but a bit inconvenient to go through the process.

      Am I right to say 0800 nos are free from sky in the meantime?

      Remind me if there's a cheaper way to call mobiles on sky please

      If you still pay line rental to BT, use 18185 for your calls to UK mobiles.

      Thank you, I do - so 10p/11p per min from 18185. Do you know how much (if anything) I pay sky for using 18185?

      How does that compare with sky charge for calling a mobile?
      Can you give me a link please for the sky charges for non-01/02/03 nos.

      Thanks for your help

      18185 charges 6p/minute (weekdays) and 5p/minute (weekends) for calls to UK mobiles and, if you pay your line rental to BT and use the 18185 prefix to make such calls, you should not be paying more.

      The 18185 prefix diverts calls away from Sky so you pay them nothing for such calls.
