Re: BT Scraps Charges for 0870 Numbers

Before I sign up to 18185 I am trying to establish what I actually pay sky at the minute for calls to mobiles. I have talk unlimited and Website says 20% cheaper call rates to UK mobiles compared to Sky Talk Freetime but I can't find what I am actually charged per min.
Any friendly soul able to help?

OK more hunting answers my own question
      http://mysky.sky.com/Assets/PDF/StaticFiles/3362110.pdf
      - for me it's 7p connection charge + 9.18 per min daytime and 5.51 evening
slightly dearer for talk freetime customers.
Time to sign up to 18185 and save a little in these crunchy times.
Thanks to Heinz for above advice

      Hi,

I've mentioned before, but I pay line rental to Sky and still use the 18185 prefix to call international mobiles. It still works fine even though I switched from BT line rental a few months ago.

Re: BT Scraps Charges for 0870 Numbers

I asked Sky about whether they were thinking of making their 0845 and 08701 numbers inclusive in their pacjakges and rfecieved the following reply:

]Thank you for your email regarding our Sky Talk packages, I apologise for
the delay in responding to you.

At present our Sky Talk call packages do not include free calls to premium
rate numbers. Please check out Sky Talk section of our website Sky.com - Home
      for further updates.

I hope I have been able to answer your query. Should you require any
further assistance regarding this issue, please reply to this email,
including your reference in the subject heading, or you can call our
Customer Services team on 08442 414141. If I have not heard any further
from you within 7 days, the enquiry will be closed.

      Kind Regards

      Gemma Gaitan
      Customer Relations

I then replied to her - seeing that these are not officially considered Premium rates

My query was not with premium rate numbers (09xx) but for the 0845,0844,
      0870, 0871 non geographic numbers.

BT have made the 0845 and 0870 numbers inclusive in their packages. Why not
      Sky?

      The response was:

Unfortunately Sky does not offer a telephone package at the moment which
includes free calls to any 087 or 0845 non geographic numbers. Various
telephony companies offer different packages. I apologise for any
      inconvenience caused.

      To which I responsed:

As I said - why not?

Do you want me to move back to BT?

To which I got the curt reply:

I apologise we cannot offer free telephone calls to non-geographic numbers at this time as this package is not currently available with Sky. If you would like to change telephone provider, please advise me accordingly.

Me thinks I was ******* them off!

By the way I received a telephone call from Sky about another query I had made regarding their 0844 number and the fact that I had to pay them for the privilege of telephoning them and was told that these calls should be free of charge -- and if I was charged I should get onto them for a refund with copies of the bill!
