    Caller ID Display won't work when Broadband is Connected

      Several members have expressed the suspicion that the filters supplied by Sky are not really up to the job.

      So the filter that you bought, where did you plug that into?
      Is that for the one that is splitting off the broadband line? Or have you bought one for every socket you had in the house, cause I have a phone plugged in elsewhere and the sky box.

      Remember you need filters on everything that is plugged into the phone line, not just where the router is. It may pay you to get one of these good quality filters and try it, with everything else unplugged from the phone line. If it works, replace each of your other filters one at a time till you find the bad one(s).

      I ordered two micro filters from "adsl-filters.co.uk" - one to go in my master socket which splits the line between phone and router, and one in an extension socket for the Sky+ box. Unfortunately one of them was faulty (a replacement is on its way) so the Sky+ box still has a standard Sky micro filter but the installation of the ADSL Nation XF-1e micro filter in the master socket has instantly solved the Caller ID problem. Money well spent in my view!

      By the way; despite claims from others it has not improved broadband performance (nor worsened it) but simply fixed the Caller ID issue. I have informed Sky Help in case they want to suggets this solution to others.

      Halleluja!! It works!
      Ive dug out my old microfilters that BT sent me when I was first with them.
      Ive plugged them in and hey presto, called ID works perfectly.
      Ive even tried changing over my micro filters in the past just I never changed over the router one as I thought a new sky one would be better... obviously not!

      It seems that a large number of the filters supplied by Sky have ducked under the quality control.

      I'm a PC, and Windows 7 Backup saved my sanity when BitDefender imploded !!!

      It must be a first for something from BT to solve a problem - in my experience they are worse than Sky!!! Still, I'm glad I was able to help.
