"the service can not be connected"

im getting the message "the service can not be connected" when dialling out, some local numbers on the same exchange work and others dont. If i prefix with 1280 calls can be made via bt without a problem. Just phoned bt and they cannot help as they say its down to sky, anyone else?

Yup happening to me on and off for the past couple of hours. I'll keep an eye on it...

If you need to make a call, you can dial 1280 in front of the number, and go thru BT. Remember to record the time and length of the call, and you can claim it back from Sky when the service returns (if a few pence do matter to you!!!)

Re: "the service can not be connected"

Hi Guys . Had same problem since around 5.00pm .All BT fault tests were showing no problems Eventually got to speak to someone at BT at about 10.30 and I was aslo told that this is a Sky Talk problem and I was also told to jump back to BT by putting 1280 before out going calls.Obviously BT have been inundated with calls and automated fault tests

My firmware was updated last night so I was worried that this might be causing problems

PS OBVIOUSLY HAD TO CONTACT BT VIA MOBILE

Why? If your line rental is still with BT, just using the prefix 1280 will send that individual call out on BT.

In any case, 0800 800 150 gets you through to BT's 150 service.

Re: "the service can not be connected"

Because at the time I did not realise it was a SKY problem, I thought it was a fault on the BT Line

Thank you for contacting Sky Broadband Technical Support.

We experienced an outage with the telephone service earlier today due to a power failure.

      This should now be resolved.
