Sky Talk Line Rental + Openreach

I currently have sky tv, broadband (out of the 12 month tie-in) and Sky Talk Freetime and currently take my line rental from bt.

Does anybody know which product from openreach the Sky talk line rental uses. Is is WLR or LLU MPF/SMPF?

I am wanting to switch to Sky Talk Line rental but does this tie me into keeping sky broadband or are you still free to use another provider for bradband that uses the BT wholesale network (eg BT Broadband, Post Office etc.) whilst staying on Sky Talk Line Rental???

      Cheers, Paul.

      Hi Paul.
Not sure, but I would be supprised if it were other than wholesale line rental. This would leave Openreach in control of maintaince, where as Shaired Metallic path or fully unbundled metallic path does not

      Hi,

I have my line rental and calling through Sky and my Broadband with O2.

They try to get me to switch to their broadband but at the moment am happy with O2.

      Can you still use 1899/18185/18866?

Not sure to be honest as never tried. I don't actually use my phone line for anything other then ADSL and sometimes incoming calls. I make most of my calls on my mobile. The odd times I make international calls I use Skype.

Yes, all my services are via Sky but I do use 18866 for cheaper local calls.

      Regards.

If your line rental has been transferred from BT to Sky, that's excellent news. It means they haven't got round to barring those indirect access providers yet.

Correct, I use a dialer for all my calls via 18866 and it works great.

Re: Sky Talk Line Rental + Openreach

Can you please tell me if you're still with this combination, i.e. line rental with Sky and Broadband with O2? I ask because O2 have just told me it's not possible to have their broadband service unless I'm paying line rental to BT, which makes no sense at all.
