Anyone else had no Sky Talk for at least a day?

      Hello,
At the moment it has been over 24 hours since we last had a telephone we could talk through. We get no dialing tone when we pick up, and when people phone us it just rings and then goes to the lady with the prerecorded message telling them we are unavailable.
This is odd, as Sky Broadband still works.
We've contacted Sky Talk and they claim to have run several tests, whilst telling us if an engineer is needed and it is not their fault we'll have to pay rather a lot of money for them. (I think it was about 99.98 for the call out and then 64.00 per hour). Now we have done everything they told us with connecting and disconnecting things, and still have no tone. There was also something mentioned about something not being connected on the account, but they didn't make this very clear. This is odd as we've been on the account for at least 3 months.
Again after contacting Sky Talk I was told by a rather upset woman that the technical department wouldn't speak to me to explain, and the problem had now been passed on to BT. We have also been told by at least 2 people that it is not our fault so we shouldn't have to pay.
Has anyone else had any trouble recently?

I take it you have handed over your line rental to Sky - and have saved 50p per month.

Well, it's my parents' line, but yes. Although I don't think we'll be staying with them after this fiasco

I've had a similar problem with bt and back then the technical guy in bt told me not to worry as this happens all the time. just in the same way, my broadband continued working, just POTS didn't work at all. was resolved the following morning

Re: Anyone else had no Sky Talk for at least a day?

Has anyone any answers to why this is? My fathers phone is now completely dead and all I get of I try ringing it is the messaging service. It worked fine up until this morning. May I ask what you may advise?

      Thanks,
      R
