      BT Cancellation charge

      Hi,

My mum signed up to SkyTalk line rental and was told they would take care of all the charges etc... to do with phone line. Which was cancelled on the 6th Dec.

Anyway got a bill from BT today changing 70 for cancellatin, now we have to go back to BT for the phone line.

First BT never told us there was a year contract and Sky never told us about charges from BT.
      Regards,
      Garry

When did your mother take her BT line out and has she done anything like changing her package recently with BT? If she has then she would indeed have entered a 12 month contract with the supplier.

It's in BT's T&C's. If you end your contract before the 12 months is up then you have to pay it.

Either way you are better keeping your line rental with BT.

      Re: BT Cancellation charge

      Hi,

The line is about one and half months old.

The problem we have is that BT never told my mum there was a minumum term/contract and was never sent or told to read the T&C, so how could we agree to them, so I presume BT must have something like if you use the line you agree.

The other problem we have is that Sky said they would take over the charges etc...

Anyway my mum is signing back up to BT and they said they would drop the 70 charge
      Regards,
      Garry
