      Re: Sky Talk Line Rental

I have bitten the bullet and transferred my line rental to Sky.

The BT contractual terms for maintaining certain free services are diffused over three sets of terms and there are at least three rules with which a customer must comply to get the 1571 service and caller display without further payment.

It is far more simple to transfer the service knowing that it can be transferred back again.

Having recently spent 68 minutes on the 'phone to BT to resolve a simple problem, I'm not inclined to think that BT is any more capable with its service provision than Sky.

For my call profile, Sky offers by far the cheaper service.

I would like to thank everyone. Calls to Sky 0844 numbers are free, and you get a UK call centre.

      Re: Sky Talk Line Rental

As this thread was started some time ago, it may be worth relating my recent experience.

I transferred yesterday to Sky Talk and Sky Rental from BT, and immediately found Voicemail was activated. I didn't ask for it, and don't want it. But they can't turn it off until Friday at the earliest.

It's not advertised, but I was persuaded to sign up to Sky with the lure of free line rental for 12 months. Plus, it's a monthly contract. Worth asking if you're thinking of signing up.
