Sky Sports launches golf magazine show

      https://corporate.sky.com/media-cent...-magazine-show

Sky Sports is to launch a new weekly magazine show called Golf Juice.

Golf Juice is filmed in front of a live audience and will feature all the latest news and views from the world of golf, alongside guests from sport, music and entertainment.

The show is one of the ways Sky Sports is working to engage and excite new and existing golf fans. In October, The British Masters supported by Sky Sports will return to the European Tour for the first time in seven years. Additionally the ‘Sky Sports Thursday’ initiative meant more than 15,000 tickets were available for free for the opening round at Woburn Golf Club.

Jason Wessely, Sky Sports executive producer for golf said: “Golf Juice is a going to be a vibrant, entertaining and energetic golf show that’s a little bit different. It will appeal to all ages and there will be plenty for new and regular golfers every week. We’re delighted it will be on Sky Sports in a regular slot on Wednesday nights and it will complement our unrivalled schedule of live golf.”

Rab Makki, Commercial Director for Juice Media said: “We’re excited and pleased to be working with Sky Sports on this unique venture. For many years golf has been crying out for something that not only engages the avid golfer but appeals to non-golf fans across the spectrum. No matter what your level of interest or even if you have none at all, Golf Juice will look to entertain, inspire, inform and engage.”

The quartet of Jimmy Bullard, Zoe Hardman, DJ Spoony and YouTube sensation Mark Crossfield will host the series in front of a live audience at TopGolf in Watford. The presenters and the guests will take a look at the biggest stories in the golfing world as well as testing out the latest equipment. Trick shot artist Geoff Swain will be showing off his skills each week and roving reporter Cara Robinson will keep viewers updated on golfing news from around the globe.

Sky Sports shows golf every week of the year with 100 tournaments live, including three of the four Majors, the Ryder Cup, European Tour, PGA Tour and The Open from 2017. The golf analysis team features some of the sport’s biggest names including Jack Nicklaus, Colin Montgomerie, Butch Harmon and Paul McGinley.

The British Masters supported by Sky Sports will return to The European Tour for the first time in seven years in October. As a presenting sponsor, Sky Sports will work with The European Tour and its leading players to engage and excite new and existing golf fans through its on-air coverage, promotion and staging of the event.

Golf Juice starts on Wednesday 8 July at 9pm on Sky Sports 4 HD. Tickets to be in the audience are available via tickets.sky.com/Golf

Oh dear, I really cannot abide these studio audience programmes.
Hated it when they started it with the punditry of premiership football on sky and now they do it for the f1 show.
'Lets ask the one with green hair and a bow tie in the audience what he thinks', duh!

I must admit, it does hark back to older times...

Consult audience member who's really shy, awkward & embarrassed.
Post response, now the presenter is embarrassed.
Now the entire studio feels awkward & embarrassed.

      The atmosphere isn't great.
Add the inevitable deadly silences that a live show will always struggle to avoid & i - the viewer am now feeling awkward & embarrassed.
