Question on Tennis and iplayer- what's available?

Hi what is available with tennis on iplayer. Google and iplayer are both inconclusive on this. iplayer is out of season for the Grand slams-they may cover a small amount. Google did say the australian had one mens semi and the final on the bbc. Does BBC TV main channel give the same if that is correct on iplayer. Is this the same with all the Grand slams ? Is wimbledon completely covered on everything mostly? I have been on tennis forums, iplayer recommended forums , everywhere and know one knows. I am leaving sky at the end of some of the season episodes on scfi. Would sky Go be the answer for the occasional TV on demand. Is this costly for one match of tennis. My guess is 3 like a movie at black buster perhaps. Sky Go is not an option really for me.

Thanks all- hoping I can finally get someone who knows. Much appreciated!

It would be very hard for anyone to say what the BBC or any other broadcaster will do in the future, unless you are the person who makes the decisions. I would guess that they will make some material available on BBC iPlayer, but this is not a right to be expected.

Since you are looking to dump Sky TV, I am guessing that you are either looking to reduce your expenses or moving to somewhere without a dish.

If you are looking to reduce costs, then Sky Go, without a Sky TV subscription, will cost money.

If you still have access to a dish, you may wish to consider a Freesat+ HD STB so that you can record all the BBC channels, including BBC HD, which last year showed the Wimbledon in 3D as an experiment.

The BBC also featured many of the matches on their Red Button channels. I'm not sure if many PVRs are capable of recording this material.

Many of the Freesat STBs also have BBC iPlayer built in so you could also use the STB to watch BBC iPlayer.

I believe that Eurosport is covering a lot of Tennis. Have a look at the Eurosport Player.

      Player

Not sure but I think it's pay by monthly subscription but with no long term commitment.

      tennis - Player

      Otherwise it's Sky Sports mainly.
