You know, I think I saw an advert for free ESPN with Sky sports on a bus shelter. As I am not interested I did not take any notice. If I pass the shelter again soon, I will update.

I'm not is Ireland by the way

      Re: espn free

I think it's free on Virgin so it would make sense if Sky went for the same. But even if it is it will probably be a promotional offer for 3-4 months only.

Free Espn would be nice though as ESPN HD is one of the better HD channels (picture quality wise) on Sky.

It has been free for a couple of weeks as far as I know and it is only to people in Ireland.

      Re: espn free

reddwarfcrew - the 3 month free isn't quite correct. The small print says you need 31 days notice to cancel and they will charge you for all you have viewed so far - (up to 27 for three months) if you cancel within the 3 months. so if you upgrade as a trial but don't see the benefit ...they will charge you a minimum of 9 (=31 DAYS viewing before cancellation comes into effect) for the privilege. Bit of a con really - if they said upfront 3 months free if you stick with it then It would be more honest.

btw - if i have misunderstood this please let me know as I could cope with 3 months espy free with no onward commitment,

      Re: espn free

Come to upgrade to ESPN and have been told it's only for new sky sports subscribers. IT doesn't say that on any advert I have seen.

Really don't want to have pay for it as there's barely any football on the channel anymore.
