At first I wasnt sure whether this was a good idea or not, further news suggests it may not be as bad as it first seemed.

Re: Formula one to be moved to Sky next year
From Whitmarsh article
"So overall, from Bernie's view, it will increase the total viewership within the UK.Doesn't 'Bernie' know that BBC, both SD and HD, is available with Sky. So how is it going to increase the viewership(?), does he think those with Sky can't watch BBC? It will reduce it if anything.

I just wish enough people would get together and protest against the licence fee..... the only time i watch the BBC is F1 and the six nations Rugby, i expect Six Nation to goto the people that want to rule the world next.

Re: Formula one to be moved to Sky next year
Did anyone watch the F1 Forum yesterday ???
Jake, Eddie and Martin strolled over to the crowd, Jake asks one F1 fan how he enjoyed the BBC's coverage, (Bit strange as the guy had just watched it live) the guy responds we don't want Sky to have it
In fact if you go to BBCiplayer and then F1 Forum at 17 minutes and 5 seconds it's there and Jake seems a bit embarrassed to say the least.

Re: Formula one to be moved to Sky next year
The only sport I watch is F1 and after this I refuse to pay for Sky sports just to watch F1 so I say F1 viewing will drop and the sponsors will not like that what is the point of watching half the races so after 30 years goodbye F1

Re: Formula one to be moved to Sky next year
I think we need to wait and see what the actual plans are. There has been some suggestion (I can't remember where but it was from someone in F1) that the beeb may be showing full delayed coverage of the races it hasn't got.
Now in the age of timeshift tv more and more people don't actually watch live. In fact I have f1 and footy on series links and will quite often watch the full coverage in delayed viewing (obviously trying my hardest to not listen to the radio and get the result beforehand).
