All rumours aside - Getting on for 1000 per annum for Sky TV alone is eye wateringly expensive, does anyone else not think so?? Plus, of course 130 odd to the "beeb" for the privilege of watching tv in the first place...

I'd happily bin off the HD, movies, and all the other extras, just retaining the basic tv package, plus BB and line rental/calls.. However SWMBO has other ideas...

So what is cheaper in September?
To get Sky World and ESPN to get HD Free
Or Sky, 5 mixes, Sports 1 and 2 with ESPN and HD Charge?
      Cost of both please

Re: Sky new prices from September 1st

There has been no actual announcement that you will get HD free if you take ESPN with Sky World.

I can see why it might work (eg Virgin offer it inclusive with their top package and it would stop people thinking of cancelling ESPN after the price rises we know are coming).

But officially on the Sky site the new prices for September show Sky World ( 51 pm - up by 2.50 pm), ESPN (9 pm - no change), HD (10 pm - no change).

These are the only confirmed prices and anything else in this thread appears to be speculation about something that may/,may not happen.

There is a major Sky commercial meeting on July 29 th and Virgin are about to announce their pricing for the Sky HD channels (believed to be still free ESPN with the top package, free Sky 1 HD etc with this. but Sports and Movies HD at 7 pm PER BOX).

I would have assumed that if Sky were going to make any changes like the free ESPN/HD deals suggested in here then these will only be announced after that meeting.

Do I take it that as this thread has dried up it means that the suggestions have not been verified?

I think we have heard confirmation today on another post that the HD subscription will stay as is, 10 per month for only the HD channels you subscribe too.

Re: Sky new prices from September 1st

It has been mooted that Sky have a big meeting and stuff on Thursday so perhaps we will know what is or isn't going to happen after then. I think Sky will have to do something as they are fighting both Virgin Media and now BT on the Sports channels front.

Re: Sky new prices from September 1st

Has anyone had their Sky mag but not had a letter about the price increase. I do have a letter as per normal with the mag but it makes no mention about the forthcoming rise, it is signed by a Julia Barry. I do have the full Sports Package and the full Movie Package with 3 mixes it that helps ?

We had the letter today - being on Sky World Sky have been delighted to tell us that they are only putting prices up by 2.50 pm.

The letter was signed by Mark Anderson.

It also confirms that Anytime + will not be available to Sky Broadband Connect customers however much you pay them.

I wish sky can let me have sky sports pack with epsn without the 1 pack to add on. I only watch sports (cricket, football and snooker) need to add eurosport as they do show snooker sometimes.
