      ESPNAmerica Now In Sky Package

With the collapse of Setanta ESPNAmerica is now part of one of the standard Sky packages,

ESPN America - American for Sports

“ESPN America is available as part of the News & Events pack on the sky platform (Channel 417) in The UK. The News & Events pack is one of 6 entertainment packs available through Sky. I am guessing you would be right and once their new channel for the Premier League comes online it will probably get moved into the sports mix. It is a bit odd that it has ended up in the news mix.

Re: ESPNAmerica Now In Sky Package

I assume it is in the news mix for good.

You cant intice people to sign-up (presumably for minimum 12months contracts ) to one package then a few months later say that you forgot to mention it was a temporary measure.

The Premier Football channel will probably be a standalone pay channel administered by Sky ( like manyoootv) so having ESPNA in the news mix gives them the opportunity to use it as a "barker" channel advertising ( incessantly probably ) the pay channel.

      Henry

      Well there you go!

ESPNA to be replaced by ESPN showing Premier League ( presumably Scottish Prem as well ) plus American sports.

All for ONLY £9 a month if you currently subscribe to Sky Sports and £12 if you dont.

Don't think I will bother thanks!

Re: ESPNAmerica Now In Sky Package

Thats annoyed me, when it was first announced there was talks it wil be £5, which is why when setanta went bust I subscribed to HD, if it was £5 then it would have only cost me an extra £2, now its going to cost me £7, was thinking ofdowngrading all sports and going down just to sports 1, may not seem worth doing this now.

Anyway on another note I notice setanta channels are no longer on the sky platform 418, 423 etc are no longer available to view a blank screen, a message now says channel not available.

Re: ESPNAmerica Now In Sky Package

Am I right in thinking this is meant to be be part of the news and events pack, until the new channel launches on the 3rd August. Why can I receive ith then on my Freesat from Sky bix that also had a setanta subscription? Is it still part of the old setanta package?
