      cancelling setanta

      just got off the phone to a very cheeky c.s rep from setanta who told me i had to pay them for the rest of my contract is this right the way i see it is the have defaulted on theyre part by losing most of the content which i view i.e the spl epl and the ufc i am justposting to see if anyone has any views on where i stand with this

      It is a monthly contract so 30 days notice.

      yes it is but as far as im aware you pay them a month in lieu well i did anyway so therefore i owe them nowt apart from the curtosy of calling them to cancel which is when i was told as i was on a 12 month contract at 9.99 a month

      I would take some legal advice. What you signed up for with Setanta, is not what you are now going to get from Setanta in the future, due to them losing the rights for the football etc.

      To me, that would mean a serious reduction in your ability to watch what you had actually agreed to pay for, and would probably be unenforceable on their behalf.

      thats what i thought due to them losing coverage of the sport which i signed up for in the first place then they have diminished my viewing the only thing they have left which i would watch is celtic tv what a joke of a company i couldnt in my wildest dreams imagine sky treating customers this way it just isnt good buisness sense thanx for the reply p.s please sky get the spl

      Just cancel the D/D or whatever you have, fill in the cancellation form an their site and leave it at that.

      They will be gone long before they come looking for you and a case they have no chance of winning.

      You signed up to watch Premier League football, they haven't got it anymore so you don't need then anymore, simple really.

      Thumbs down SETANTA in Administration.

      Setanta are now in administration, cancel all DDs and if you are paying with credit card, 'loose' your card and report it to your bank ASAP.
