Would imagine its something to do with the broadcasting rights. The Euro television rights probably wont allow them to do so.

      Re: Euro 2008

Absolutely right. No Broadcaster can show content if they haven't paid the copyright holder for the right to do so. If sky aren't showing this, the only reason I assume would be that they don't think the increase in advertising revenue generated will exceed whatever charge the copyright holder wanted to make. Either that or the deal done with ITV/BBC was such that the copyright holder was barred frrom offering the content to Sky at any price.

Why don't you want to watch the free content on BBC and ITV?

Don't often watch the beautiful game myself but when I do I turn the sound down and listen to the commentary on BBC 5 Live.

Agreed, the beebs coverage beats ITV's hands down. I personally wouldn't allow ITV anywhere near football but as they have the financial clout to bid for such games then I can't see football disappearing from their channels anytime soon.

Certain events are protected by the Goverment so that they have to be available Free to View.

This is one of them, so if Sky bought the rights, another broadcaster could still buy them and show it for free:

They could still purchase a highlights package - likew Eurosport have.
Thin BBC should try and buy Champions Leagues rights.

      Cool Re: Euro 2008

No point in watching it anyway. No home nations qualified, so I'll stick with SkyUser Radio!
