Re: Recording onto a DVD Disc from Planner
VCR & DVD recorders had protections installed to stop people copying pre-recorded material from Video cassettes and DVDs a long time ago.
Recording content from a Sky+ STB isn't too difficult and shouldn't be blocked.
Essentially you'll need to connect your DVD recorder to the Scart output from the Sky+ HD STB and ensure that the input to the DVD Recorder is correctly connected. If you have an older STB with 2 Scart sockets, it is possible to use the 'Input Scart' connector.
There are a few other checks to do to ensure that you have it all connected correctly. Scart leads can be notoriously problematic. Ensure that the lead is squarely plugged in and not at a slight angle. If you get a picture but not sound or sound and no picture, that is often the cause. Connect your TV to the DVD recorder to ensure that you're getting both.
Once it's all connected you'll need to play the content. You can do this via the common route of just playing it, or you can use the 'Copy' function, which allows you to queue a few episodes.
