Re: Verizon Fios shifts to 'skinny bundles' for TV service
Sky do much the same with their choice of Original, Variety, Sports and Movies, plus the other individual channels. I think the American model of the Ultimate pack bunches all these together. Sky have over 600 channels available, I would think 15-10 would be enough for most people, so Sky could do better. But who is going to pay extra for all the Shopping, Religious and Dating Channels if a choice were given.

Bundles are great, but only when offered at a discount compared to the total cost of individual items contained within.
If no option to choose individual items exists, they will only ever be carefully constructed to entice upgrades.
Are verizon being nicer, kinder & fairer?
No, they'll do what sky did when entertainment & entertainment extra were launched.
Take the top 20 most viewed channels they have some control of & put 10 in one bundle & the other 10 in another.
Only in the u.s. everything is bigger, so it'll be even worse / obvious.
