Inputs Interfere With Eachother
Hi, I have been suffering problems with signal dropouts for a while. Everything works OK for a while (could be days or hours) then the box loses signal on one of the two inputs. It's extremely frustrating as you can never be sure if it will have signal to deal with whatever is set to record or that you wish to watch.
To date, I have had a SKY man out who told me the two inputs from the LNB were good so it must be my box (an Amstrad HD 500GB box). I replaced that and the new one is doing the same thing!
However, today I saw the strangest thing happen to it:
Input 1 plugged in and working, Input 2 not plugged in.
I insert input 2 into the box.
Immediately, input 1 dies, no signal at all and input 2 comes up.
I remove input 2 from the box.
Immediately, it reverts to input 1 working and input 2 having no signal (because it's not plugged in).
Any ideas ?
Thanks a lot - Damian.

Your box has not been set to single input mode has it? Check by following the instructions here - Connecting your Sky box in a flat - Sky Community
