Re: Which sky box?
If you want to be able to record go for an Amstrad/Sky DRX890 or DRX895.The 895 can hold more recordings than the 890 so is likely to be more expensive.A "W" suffix indicates the box is wifi enabled. Disregard any other suffix as this just indicates country of origin.
If you only have one cable from the dish you will need to set this box to single feed mode.

Have you asked Sky for a free or discounted replacement?

Re: Which sky box?
Whilst a secondhand STB would offer a good price, I would be inclined to see what deal is available via the Sky website ( www.sky.com/mysky ) as Tom has suggested above.
You'll need to log into your account. Scroll down a little and you'll see a heading 'Offers exclusively for you'. Click the link just below it and see what deals are there.
If there isn't anything interesting give Sky a call on 03442 414141 .
By getting Sky out to swap out your old STB, the engineer should take a look at your dish and LNB. If your existing LNB needs to be upgraded then he'll do it as a part of the upgrade. He'll also fit the additional coaxial cable so that you have two feeds for the new STB.

Re: Which sky box?
New Sky+HD box will be £49 + possible install cost of £60 without HD.
box will be free with HD but again possible install cost of £60.
Free install is currently only available when upgrading to Multiscreen.
You could call cancellations and you will probably get a Sky+HD box with/without HD for free and they can do the install for £15, as long as you have never had a Sky+ box before.
