Noisy Sky plus box

Hi. Could someone please tell me how to do a planner rebuild, as this has been suggested as a solution to my noisy Sky + box... the box is now keeping me awake with it's constant whirring and clicking! All the planner rebuild stuff I've seen is too old and doesn't fit with the menus I see on my box. Thank you.

On Sky+HD boxes
1. Press Services button
2. Then 001,
3. Select button,
4. Then 7,
5. Select twice.

If you have the newer firmware it pays to empty the Deleted programs folder before doing a rebuild. To do this go to your Planner when on 'All' press the left arrow till 'Deleted' appears. Highlight each program amd press the yellow button. You can keep pressing continually, you do not need to wait till the previous program is deleted.

On older boxes do this -

1. Switch off at the mains
2. Holding Left and Right navigation buttons, switch power on and hold for about 30 seconds until Green play light comes on
3. Press SELECT'
4. The 'play-light' will then rotate clockwise while the resetting procedure takes place. This may take up to 3 minutes. (This timing could vary if there are no programmes stored in the hard drive)
5. It then reverts to 'Standby'
6. Leave the machine for 2 minutes while hard drive re-formats.

Planner rebuild for non HD boxes should be:

Press the SERVICES button, then 4,0,1, SELECT.
Planner / Sky+ rebuild will be option 7.

There are only 2 types of os / menu layout isn't there?
Sky+ & Sky+HD?

Thank you, it is actually a Sky + HD box and your instructions worked perfectly, I just need to see if it's made it quieter overnight! Thank you for a very quick and informative response.
