      Sky SD channel frequency 12285

Has anyone ever experienced a problem with just one frequency... in my mother's case 12285?! She has downgraded from HD to SD and as a result lost a lot of key channels that are stored on just this one frequency, these include Sky1, Sky Atlantic, Sky Living, Sky Arts, Sky Sports 2... she is able to receive channels by manually scanning for their alternate frequencies and storing them in the 'other channels' section (I guided her through this!) but this is not ideal in the long term.

Does anyone know how we proceed? The Sky dish has been moved from pillar to post previously and as soon as the engineers get any kind of frequency on different channels (that have always worked!) they just don't want to know.

Truly stumped! Any advice appreciated :-)

Loss of one frequency can have several causes. Most common is local interference from some nearby electronic equipment. Make sure all other equipment is disconnected. A poor quality HDMI cable can also cause problems. Disconnect any HDMI cables and use Scart, to test.

LNB cable damage is another possibility. See

Can you try another Sky box in place of the one showing the problem? That would establish if it's the Sky box or the installation that's at fault. It could be many causes so this is the first stage of diagnosing the problem.
