      Online Chat question turned into a pushy sales pitch

      Just had the following conversation using online chat, I orginally asked about fibre broadband but it ended up being a pro-active sales pitch ( that cost me no more) replaced his screen name with sky to protect his identity lol.

      I hope you don't make many international calls as there were some free destinations in your old calls package which are not included in your new one.

      Luckily I don't make any. But yes looks like they are not in they are exchanged for the 0845 and 0870. He never mentioned that.

      Saying that I have been charged over 5 last month for 0845 numbers and regularly do so it is better for me. Wished I was told about this option before.

      I thought that 0870 numbers had always been free with sky?

      At least since the 'legacy' tariffs from when i joined about 2 1/2 years ago.

      Not happy, every time I made a call it was withheld number, even with 141 preceding the number.

      He told me if i added the pack it would only be activated when I dialled 141....

      Phoned up sky now, and the phone menus don't know I am talk/broadband customer and I go through to new sales (may have something to do with adding anytime UK???)

      They have now switched it off, and he confirmed I could of used 141 previously and he gave me the incorrect information using online chat and that I had turned on 141 permanently

      Maybe they were having a competition who could collect the most order numbers or something......

      A bit late now I know but if you had preceded the number with 1470 your number would not have been withheld.
