      Re: Sky hd box

Try cancelling as it's pointless paying a subscription for a box you can't use. If you're offered a free engineers visit accept it as the engineer will probably replace the dead box with a refurbished box that comes with a three month warranty.

If you don't get an acceptable offer you still have thirty one days before the cancellation takes effect to consider your options.

Log a fault call with Sky, the will fix any fault including swapping out box for 65. I think the repair comes with six months warranty, might be 3 though.

Alternatively pop out to a local secondhand shop and see if you can pick up a cheap one there.

Some national chains are selling them for 40-50, but the smaller ones tend to be better. It is possible to pick up a DRX890 for 15-25.

      Re: Sky hd box

I installed a second sky hd box for my father in law for 35 bought from a pawn shop he had a sky+ plus box. The only drawback is as far as sky is concerned you have a sky hd box and you are not entitled to any offers even though it is a self install.
