Setting up 'Remote eye' on single Sky+HD box -

We want to put our Sky+HD box in a cabinet below the TV but as the cupboard doors are not latticed we have to open & close the doors every time we want to use the remote
After some searching around I have bought a 'Remote Eye' from Maplins, having been assured by them it will remedy the problem: Sky Remote Eye Link | Maplin
I have connected it to the RF2 socket and also the aerial socket on the far side of the RF1 socket. It doesn't work. I've tried it on the RF1 socket, that doesn't work either.
Can anyone help? I have searched around online for a solution with no success. Most posts deal with people using a Magic Eye or Remote Eye on 2 or more TV's throughout the house. My problem is simpler I think but I don't know what to do next.
      Any advice welcome - thanks!

The Magic Eye and Maplin's device called "Remote Eye" both use the same technology.

Have you enabled the RF Outlet Power Supply? (Using the Sky remote press <Services> 0 0 1 <Select> 4 to highlight 'RF Outlets', then change the setting and press <Green> to save)

You also need an aerial lead with a solid core.

Doing both of these should cause the LED on the device to illuminate.
