      Going from Subscription to Freesat

My son is returning a house with some friends whilst at university.

The previous tenant vacated in July but left a Sky+ box and card saying the subscription runs to mid october (he took it out for a minimum of a year when he moved in back in Oct 2012).

He left a message for the next tenants (my son and his friends) saying they could use the box as they pleased.

Now none of them want premium TV but are interested in Freesat.

      How does this work?

Will it just continue working for the FTA channels when the subscription expires.

Will they need to pair the card up to reflect the change in service.

Or will they need to apply for a Freesat card of their own and pair that (if so how do they get one).

      Cheers,

      Nigel

Re: Going from Subscription to Freesat

Once the subscription expires recording, playback and live pause will no longer work but all free to air and free to view channels will continue to be viewable giving the same selection of programmes that would be available to a Freesat From Sky customer.
