      Sky box not storing programmes once switched off, channel display VERY slow to appear

      After months of happy viewing, my Sky+ HD Box has developed some annoying faults;

      It isn't saving series links to the planner once it is turned off - when I switch it back on it has wiped the programmes

      Also, the channel viewer is really slow to load - says 'Searching for listings' for around five seconds before it comes up. Very annoying when I'm scanning through.

      Anyone any ideas?

      Before jumping to the conclusion that the STB has failed, could you do the following two actions please:

      1. empty the 'Deleted' tab in the Planner
      2. perform a 'Planner Rebuild'

      To empty the 'Deleted Tab'

      Using the Sky remote control press <TV Guide> <Green> <Left> <Down>

      Now press <Yellow> repeatedly until the tab has been emptied. You can press it say 10 times in quick succession and the STB will catch up.

      To perform a 'Planner Rebuild'

      Using the Sky remote control press <Services> 0 0 1 <Select> 7 <Down>

      This should have highlighted the 'Sky+ Rebuild' tab in the Settings menu. Do not perform the 'System Reset' as it will wipe al your recordings. A planner rebuild is not destructive.

      Now follow the instructions on your screen.

      The process will take around 10 to 20 minutes to complete. Do not do it whilst any recordings are taking place or planned.

      Once it has completed press the <Sky> button on your Sky remote control.
