      Will Sky replace my box?

      Hi,

I have had a search but to no avail.

Can anyone tell me please, for the 65 call out, will Sky replace a broken box that was bought off Ebay, or will they insist on 200 for a new one?

Also, if I want my single feed replaced with a dual one, is that another 65? Starts getting quite expensive.

      Thanks for your help

      Good question.

      I can't answer it, but..............

I too purchased a HD Thomson box off ebay some time ago.
Installed it and activated it myself and one day shortly afterwards, I got a phone call from sky telling me that my box was one of several that were stolen from a van.
I gave them the details of where I purchased it and they allowed me to keep it.
They eventually swapped it free of charge for a newer Amstrad box when on demand became available.

My guess would be that they would support it, but its only a guess based on what happened to me.

Got a good result with this. They said they could fix it for 65, but they weren't convinced it was broken as it may have just needed a reset. Anyway, I was really after a box with more storage space anyway. I got put through to sales and to my surprise, I've now got a brand new box and wireless connector coming for free, and a free upgrade to Sky Go Extra.

      Great result.

      Very good result!

If you happen to have a Thomson model Sky+ HD (also Sky+) STB then Sky are in the process of replacing them ALL. I suspect that this is what you have.

To check press <Services> 0 3. Thomson should be listed as the manufacturer.
